Value Chain Development

On 24 July 2021, in an on-line workshop organized by Better International Cooperation (BIC), a Japan-based not-for-profit organization, our global mom, Yasuko, presented on agricultural value chain development.

When it comes to value chain development, more attention tends to be paid to the core function of the chain, from production, aggregation, processing, and distribution. However, along the core value chain, various supporting functions exist, which we should not disregard. Without those supporting functions, the core value chain would not be able to work in a sound manner. In her presentation, Yasuko focused on the supporting functions of the value chain and introduced several innovative approaches to making the entire value chain sustainable. Her presentation is available in the PDF below.
