The year 2020 has just started! How did you welcome the new year?
On New Year’s Eve, I went to a Silvester Concert held at the Minato Mirai Hall in Yokohama, Japan. From 20:30 on 31 December to 0:30 on 1 January, I listened to fantastic music played by an orchestra. They played pieces by such distinguished composers as J.S. Bach, Mendelssohn, Schumann, Suppé, Verdi, Mozart, Puccini, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, and Mahler. Listening to the beautiful harmony of the orchestra, I was thinking of the world as a whole…
The orchestra creates an aesthetic harmony with various kinds of musical instruments; the strings like the violin, flute, cello, and contrabass; the woodwind instruments such as the clarinet and oboe; the percussion instruments, etc. In the orchestra, each player knows his/her own mission and does his/her best to create and convey the most beautiful harmony to the audience. If I compare the orchestra to the wider world…
Each of us was born with a given mission to achieve, but none of us can achieve the mission while acting alone, because we live in an “orchestra.”
Which “musical instrument” would you like to play?
Furthermore, with that “musical instrument,” what colors would you like to express in 2020?
Two instruments are better than one, so, shall we create a lovely harmony together?
Welcome to the EEN “orchestra” in 2020!
