Rice Bank in Laos

“Beary” Happy New Year for 2014!

My mom is sending you a New Year’s message from Laos. She is ubiquitous. She is always out of the home, working abroad as a global mother. In 2014, she may show up in your country! If you see her in your country, say, “Let’s BEAR!” to her, instead of “hello.”

I am sending you a New Year’s message from Japan, sitting alone without my mom. Do you think that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan will issue a passport and visa for me? Going abroad with my mom is my big dream. I hope that my dream will come true in 2014. Ha, ha, ha!

Anyway, my mom and I wish you a “beary” Happy New Year for 2014. Be Empowered with Available Resources! Let’s BEAR!

Rice Bank in Laos
My mom is standing in front of the rice bank, holding rice in her hands. Villagers can borrow rice at a 10-15% of interest rate when they are short of rice. This is one kind of the effective food security activities at the grassroots level.

I want to work abroad with my mom! I hope my dream will come true in 2004.
